Films: The Prophecy (1995), The Prophecy 2 (1998), The Prophecy 3: The Ascent (2000)
Alias: Gabriel the Angel of Death, Simon, Michael, Uziel, Pyriel the Angel of Genocide, Zophael, Danyael, Raphael, Lucifer, Danyael Jr. the Nephilim
Type: Mystical
Location: Eldritch location/Civilized Area
Height/Weight: That of average humans.
Affiliation: Good (Gabriel...eventually, Simon, Danyael and son, Michael), Evil (the rest)
Summary: Sometimes, Heaven is just as messed up as the place downstairs. But it isn't God's fault, necessarily. He just has some very rowdy children, and even Satan finds it all unnerving.
History: Ever since humanity came on the scene, a second civil war between Angels has raged on for millennia. Not a single human soul has entered Heaven because of it, and they are all forced to take refuge in the realm of Lucifer, who is concerned about there being a second Hell if the rebel Angels win. And to give you an idea of how Heaven's doing, there are living Angel corpses everywhere, and Eden has been reduced to an industrial wasteland. Leading the rebels is Gabriel, who has a raging hatred for the "talking monkeys" due to not being Daddy's favorite. And he will stop at nothing to destroy the human race for good...or will he?
Notable Kills: Nothing special
Final Fate: Gabriel is constantly thwarted, but in time, he comes to realize that humanity isn't all that bad, especially after being brought down to their level by Michael and watching the growth of Danyael the Nephilim. He ends up assisting him in defeating Pyriel, ending the Heavenly war, and earing Gabe back his place as an Angel.
Powers/Abilities: Superhuman strength, nigh-invulnerability, flight, shapeshifting into birds.
Weakness: Angels die if their hearts are destroyed.
Scariness Factor: 4-The idea that Heaven is off-limits and in disrepair because of a conflict we had no hope of stopping is terrifying, to say the least. And as for the Angels, they are rather creepy most of the time, especially the unhinged Gabriel (for a time). Oh, and their TRUE forms are capable of inducing either madness, divine ecstasy, or both. Think on that. Then again, at least the war is over...
Trivia: -Yes, the war is over. Those two sequels from 2005? NEVER. HAPPENED. There's no Christopher Walken to speak of, anyway!
-Lucifer was played by Viggo Mortensen, who would later go on to play as Aragorn in Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" movies.
